Stephen Burrows – MCNY

Em 1977 o New York Times chamou Stephen Burrows de “a estrela mais brilhante da moda Americana” e suas criações fizeram dele o primeiro designer Afro-Americano a ganhar status internacional. O Museu da Cidade de Nova Iorque (MCNY) está prestando homenagem ao designer que um dia vestiu Cher, Diana Ross e Liza Minelli com uma exposição entitulada “When Fashion Danced” a qual começou em Março e termina agora nesse fim de semana, no dia 28 de Julho. Aqueles que tiverem a chance de ir ao museu, poderão ver desenhos, fotografias e roupas originais do Stephen. Esta é uma exibição bem interessante, principalmente para aqueles que são fãs da era do Studio 54.

In 1977 the New York Times called Stephen Burrows the “brightest star of American fashion,” and his creations made him the first African-American designer to gain international acclaim. The Museum of the City of New York is paying homage to the designer that once dressed Cher, Diana Ross, and Liza Minelli with an exhibition entitled “When Fashion Danced”, which started in March and will be ending this weekend, July 28th.  Whoever has the chance to go to the museum will be able to see drawings, photographs, and original garments by Stephen. This is an interesting exhibit, especially for the ones who are fans of the Studio 54 era.
