Acabo de chegar de uma viagem incrível pela Espanha. Foram 7 dias de aprendizado, compras e muita comida boa. Apesar do friozinho gostoso, (nada em comparação ao inverno de Nova Iorque) deu para entrar bem no espirito do espanhol.

A primeira parada foi em Barcelona. Para quem não conhece essa cidade, posso dizer que é um dos lugares mais bonitos que já conheci. A cidade tem charme próprio, ainda mais nessa época do ano quando as luzes natalinas iluminam toda a cidade.

Para compras, indico a rua Passeig de Gracia onde encontra-se grandes marcas como a Carolina Herrera, Chanel, Gucci, mas também é encontrado as lojas de fast-fashion.

A Espanha é conhecida por ser a base da marca Zara, (a minha preferida) e lá pude conhecer outras marcas criadas pelo mesmo grupo, Inditex, e que não são encontradas em NY. Algumas delas são:

1. Pull & Bear: loja com preço super acessível e as roupas bem descoladas e jovem.
2. Bershka: outra marca jovem e divertida com preço super em conta
3. Uterque: marca de acessórios mais clássicos

Uma das melhores partes de viajar é comer. Na Espanha, encontra-se milhares de opções de pratinhos também conhecidos como tapas e diferentes variedades da paella.  Aprendi que, assim como fazemos em Nova Iorque, temos que fazer uma reserva quase sempre senão não conseguimos mesa. O horário para jantar é bem mais tarde ao que estamos acostumados (a partir das 10 da noite). Também é importante gostar de frutos do mar. Quase todos os pratos nos restaurantes típicos são servidos a base de ingredientes do mar.

Não podem deixar de conhecer:

1. Catalana Cerveseria: um lugar famosíssimo de tapas. Todos os pratos que pedimos estavam deliciosos, mas é essencial pedir os “Huevos Cabreaos,” especialmente se você gosta de batata palha e ovos.
2. Cornelia & Co: um ambiente super gostoso, Cornelia and Co é um restaurante, mas também é um lugar para tomar um cafezinho ou comprar os melhores ingredientes, como por exemplo azeite trufado ou chocolate amargo, em seu pequeno mercadinho.
3. Botafumeiro: um restaurante mais tradicional de frutos do mar, também vale a pena conhecer.                                                                          
   

Em Barcelona, o arquiteto Gaudí espalhou seu trabalho pela cidade. Existem museus, parques e a catedral La Sagrada Família; todos trabalhos incríveis que fazem dessa cidade ainda mais mágica. Alguns pontos que devem ser conhecidas são:

1. La Sagrada Família: Quando viajo gosto de entrar em todas as igrejas. Sempre existe uma beleza rara e uma energia muito forte, mas La Sagrada Família vai muito além de tudo isso. A arquitetura é indescritível e a beleza é algo fora desse mundo. Vai sempre ter uma fila de horas para entrar na igreja, mas vale muito a pena esperar. Não existe lugar no mundo igual a este.
2. La Pedrera: um prédio construído dos anos 1906-1912 pelo arquiteto Gaudí. La Pedrera é um centro cultural onde atividades e diferentes exibições são organizadas. É o segundo lugar mais visitado depois de La Sagrada Família.
3. Camp Nou: é o estádio de futebol da cidade. Tive sorte de conseguir assistir a um jogo da Barça no estádio, mas também existe um museu dentro do estádio. Assim os amantes do esporte podem conhecer de perto os vestiários, salas de imprensa e até sentar no banco dos jogadores.

I just recently arrived from a 7-day trip to Spain filled with sightseeing, shopping, and fabulous food. Despite the light winter weather (nothing in comparison to our New York City’s winter), I was able to understand the real Spanish lifestyle.

The first stop was in the beautiful city of Barcelona. For those who have never been there, I must say that it is one of the most enchanting places I have ever been, especially this time of the year in which holiday lights lighten up the city.

For great shopping, I recommend the street called Passeig de Gracia, where you can find great brands like Carolina Herrera, Chanel, Gucci, but also find the fast fashion shops.

Spain is known for the creation of my favorite brand Zara, and I was able to discover other brands by the same group, which we do not have access here in New York. Here a few of them:

1. Pull& Bear: a store with very accessible prices and fun and young styles.
2. Bershka: another young and hip brand with excellent prices.
3. Uterque: is an accessory brand with classic pieces.

One of the most pleasurable parts of travelling is definitely eating. In Spain, you can find thousands of varieties of the small dishes they like to call tapas. There is also a large variety of paellas. I learned that, just like we do here in New York, you must make a reservation for all restaurants, and their dinner time is a little later than we are used to (starting from 10pm onwards).  It is also important to enjoy eating seafood because most Spanish dishes include ingredients from the sea. Here are a few places worth visiting:

1. Catalana Cerveseria: is one of their most famous restaurants for tapas. All the dishes that we tasted were delicious, but in specific you must order the “Huevos Cabreaos” especially if you like eggs and potatoes.
2. Cornelia & Co: is a charming place where you can have a meal or just a coffee or even shop the best ingredients at their small market.
3. Botafumeiro: is a traditional seafood restaurant, but it is all extremely tasty.

In Barcelona, the architect Gaudi is known for having his works spread around the city. There are museums, parks, and a cathedral called La Sagrada Família that were projected by him, and that make this city even more magical. Here are a few essential places to visit:

1. La Sagrada Família: when I travel, I like to visit all the churches. There is always something unique about each one of them, and the energy is always so powerful, but at La Sagrada Familia it goes beyond all that. The architecture is indescribable and the beauty is something from out of this world. There will always be a long waiting line to enter, but it is worth the wait. There is nowhere in the world quite like this one.
2. La Pedrera: is a landmark building also created by Gaudí and today it is a cultural center where the city’s activities and exhibitions are all organized. It is the second most visited site after the La Sagrada Família Cathedral.
3. Camp Nou: is the city’s soccer stadium. I was lucky enough to be able to watch a Barça game live at the stadium, but there is also a museum inside. All soccer lovers will be able to experience up close where the changing rooms are, the press rooms, and even sit on the players’ benches.
